About

Writing Badly is a new journal of letters on the topic of transmisogyny and transfeminism. It is a by-and-for trans women feminist publication. It wants to be a new home for transfeminine, transfeminist interlocution.

It publishes one physical issue annually, which is not released digitally to the wider world for one to 5 years after publication.

The next issue will be released on March 20th, 2025. Subscribe to our mailing list to be notified.

It accepts previously published work and provides posterity for transfeminist texts.

We are often stylised as Badly Writing, Badly Writing Journal, Writing Badly Magazine, or any combination therein.

Letters relevant to the lives of transgender women are invited. They may be previously published, including self-published online. They may be sent to editor@badly.press. Letters are not paid. There is an agony aunt section.
